Although this book was created for salespeople, it contains powerful spiritual truths. We see these truths arising in every facet of our lives: business, social, governmental, as well as in church.
The book is a parable for success and tells the story of a young man Joe and his mentor Pindar. In the book, Pindar illustrates “The Five Laws of Stratospheric Success.” The first one is called “The Law of Value”: Your true worth is determined by how much more you give in value, than you take in payment. In Unity we say that giving and receiving are the same thing. We are one. Your spirit and my spirit are one. We are connected in powerful spiritual ways. In this context, when I give to you, I'm actually giving to me as well.
The second law is the "Law of Compensation": Your income (that is, the inflow of all good things to your life) is determined by how many people you serve, and how well you serve them. It's not about your value--it's about how many people we are impacting with that value. It's about the world being a place of infinite possibilities. And it is looking at how we are limiting ourselves by limiting the impact that we’re having on the world. The Buddha said it this way: “When you see someone practicing the way of giving, aid him joyously, and you will obtain vast and great blessings.”
The difference between someone who is having a great inflow of life, and someone who feels broke, is their own decision. It's all up to us. It's not enough to know these things. It's not enough to believe these things. We have to do them. Sky offers these commitments:
--I commit to giving more in value that I take in payment.
--I commit to serving many with love and excellence.
The good news is that we never have to do these things alone, that the spirit of God is always in us to remind us to give more, and remind us to give to all.
