Kathleen (Kat) Lin-Hurtubise has been a member of Unity Church of Hawai‘i for three years and has been an usher for more than a year. Her two sons (ages 1 and 4) attend Unity Preschool. In 2003 she founded Gourmet Cooking Hawaii, the predecessor of Gourmet Events Hawaii, a catering and event planning company. The company now produces more than 100 events yearly. Prior to starting her own business, Kathleen honed her community-building talents as director of the Hawaii Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). She and her team at MDA raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for the non-profit through statewide fundraisers. Kathleen holds a Bachelor's Degree in Political Communication from Emerson College in Boston, and a Master's Degree in Political Science from the University of Hawaii, Manoa. As a Board of Trustee for Unity Church of Hawaii, Kathleen hopes to offer her business and fundraising acumen to support the growth of Unity's spiritual community.

Dr. Fred Staedel and his wife, Becky, have been Hawaii residents for 19 years. Fred, a lifetime student of New Thought theology, is devoted to the purposes and programs of our church, and as an educator is dedicated to our being a "teaching church". He will be fully involved in that mission as a trustee. Fred has a Bachelor's from U.C. Berkeley; a master's in business administration and doctorate of theology. Graduate work in adult education. He is currently on the faculty of Hawaii Campus of the University of Phoenix teaching undergraduate/ graduate business courses as well as leadership, strategic planning, communications, critical thinking, ethics, conflict resolution, and religious studies. He had a twenty-year business career in California, founding Fred Staedel & Associates, a real estate/commercial property management firm. He has held myriad secular and non-secular leadership positions in the past 40 years, and hopes to bring this leadership acumen as well as business experience to the board. Fred served two years on the church's Strategic Planning Committee developing the church's strategic plan. Currently serving on the Strategic Advisory Council, facilitates a "GIFT Group", and serving on "UPCO", which administers church activities and workshops. He and his wife participate in "Friendly Hearts."

Michelle Hubbard, a law school graduate, worked in personal injury firms in Los Angeles, CA. After moving to Hawaii in 1989, she worked for Locations real estate company. Although successful, she wanted to pursue a career in writing, and had a young adult novel, several articles and short stories published. She is currently employed by Kaplan TestPrep as an admissions consultant, helping graduate/law school applicants with their essays and Resume. She is once again becoming an active real estate agent. In 2008, Michelle became a member of Unity Church. She volunteers as an usher, note writer to new visitors, and in the office. She also writes for the email newsletter, started and maintains the church Facebook page. She is a member of the Finance and UPCO Committees; has taken six SEE classes, and attends Town Hall meetings. Michelle brings a profound sense of gratitude and love for our church, an analytical perspective, a sincere interest in making friends and working together for the good of the church. She is eager to serve on the Board as another way to give back to this church that has come to mean very much to her.

Judith Bowman has been a member of Unity Church of Hawai‘i for 4 years, and member of the Board of Trustees since last year. Since she started attending Unity Church, she have been an active volunteer, coordinating the schedule for Sunday PowerPoint presentations, and operating the program two/three Sundays per month. She also produced the 2009 Easter service at the Waikiki Shell, and is happy to have that responsibility for this year's Easter service. She is a member of the Unity Healing Arts Center. Judith has lived in Hawaii for 6 years and is a registered nurse and licensed acupuncturist. She currently works at Queen's Medical Center as Administrative Coordinator, responsible for hospital operations during night and weekend shifts. She also has a small private acupuncture practice. Past work experience includes many years as a health advocate and educator with AARP, several years as director of a home health agency, and years as an RN in a many nursing positions. These professional experiences enabled her to develop the skills to be an effective member of the Board. She is committed to the mission and vision of Unity, and would be honored to continue service on the Board of Trustees.

Lynn Panagakos has been an attorney for 21 years and has her own law office in downtown Honolulu defending complex federal criminal cases. Prior to this, Lynn served as a Federal Prosecutor with U.S. Department of Justice, Criminal Division, Organized Crime/Racketeering Section. Lynn investigated the conduct of Boards of Trustees of employee welfare benefit plans and health care benefit programs. She examined complex financial statements and transactions, reviewed minutes of meetings, and became aware of the fiduciary duties trustees owe members and organizations they serve. Lynn received numerous awards from Department of Justice in recognition of outstanding service as a prosecutor, and received "Extra Mile Award" from the District of Hawaii Federal Public Defender in recognition of commitment to clients she now defends. Lynn deeply loves Unity and wants to give back to the Church Ohana that saved her life. Lynn was introduced to Unity Church of Hawai‘i in 2007, while in treatment for alcoholism. Through church participation, diligent study and application of Unity's teachings, Lynn has recovered from alcoholism, depression, and poor physical and financial health. Lynn now manifests life, love, health, wholeness and prosperity; currently studies to become a Licensed Unity Teacher, taking 14 SEE classes in the past year, and aspires to be a Unity writer/minister.
