Originally from Fort Wayne, Indiana by way of Columbus, Ohio I moved to Honolulu in July 2005 for a “change” from Midwest living. And what a change! I began working at UCoH in August 2006 as the Office Manager and moved into the Administrator position in 2009. I grew up attending Lutheran schools from Kindergarten through my sophomore year in college and felt God was an external entity that seemed judgmental and not very friendly. Since opening to Unity principles and ideas, my spirituality has deepened to a knowing of my divinity. Through this spiritual community, I have met some very special individuals who have opened my heart to knowing and believing that Love is always the answer. And thus, my journey of Love continues…always.
In all of my endeavors in my rather eclectic working career a primary driving force has been my desire to care and serve clients, customers, and co-workers with loving kindness. My journey to this job and Unity, like many events in my life, was rather synchronistic. At various points in my life I have visited a few churches but never found anything that “felt right.” Being born and raised in Hawaii, I’ve probably passed by Unity Church of Hawaiʻi hundreds of times and never really notice it. But I did take notice of it one day and after a little online research decided to attend a service. After the first service, I was literally in tears and knew this was home for me. I finally found a church that had a philosophy of loving kindness that I longed for. To serve that purpose has truly been a gift and honor for me.
